The Inn at Burklyn is a stunning historic mansion in Northern, VT, perfect for Morgan and Bills’ intimate wedding celebration.
Morgan and Bill were supposed to get married last year in November of 2020, but COVID restrictions forced them to cancel their wedding just one week before their wedding date. They ended up postponing to one year later in October of 2021 and hosted their closest family members and friends.
Detail-Oriented Wedding with a Dark Color Palette
These small and intimate weddings have been some of my favorites. There is something so special and intimate about sharing this monumental moment with just your closest people.
As you can see, Morgan is very detail-oriented. She has an eye for design and meticulously thought through every part of her wedding from designing her own invitations, to curating generous Vermont-themed welcome bags to creating beautiful florals with Blomma Flicka. The design elements on the stationary mimicked the architectural details of the inn, tying everything together beautifully. I had so much fun capturing every single detail she planned.
Fall Wedding at The Inn at Burklyn
Morgan and Bill started the day getting ready separately at The Inn at Burklyn. If you have never been, this was the perfect place for a small wedding with just 14 luxurious rooms. While getting ready, they opened the gifts from each other. Morgan and Bill both share a love for the band Phish, so it was really special when the bride gave Bill a signed Phish mask.
One of my favorite moments of the day was the first look outside on the lawn with the mountains and changing leaves in the background. It is so quintessential Vermont! After the first look and taking some portraits outside on the property, it was time for the ceremony. Morgan descended down the elegant staircase to the small and intimate ceremony in front of the beautifully decorated fireplace.
Romantic Dinner Reception
I absolutely loved the intimate, candle-lit dinner with everyone around one table. The table settings were to die for! With gorgeous navy blue and gold details – it looked absolutely stunning! After dinner, Morgan, and Bill decided to change it up. Instead of doing a sparkler exit at the end of the night, they chose to do a sparkler entrance into their reception and dancing space.
Morgan is the sister of one of my 2020 brides. I always love doing multiple weddings for one family because it feels like a family reunion. This was such a beautiful wedding to capture and I wish Mogan and Bill all the best!
