It’s always exciting to photograph a new event as a photographer, which is why I loved photographing my first Bat Mitzvah in Burlington, Vermont in mid-February! I was so honored when my former UVM college professor asked me to photograph her daughter’s Bat Mitzvah. I had never been to or photographed a Bat Mitzvah so it was all completely new to me. But as the day continued, I realized that it was strikingly similar to a wedding. While the principals for the celebration are different, it was a day centered around love, family & friends, and the celebration that Zoe and her family had been planning for months. Everybody was so friendly, there was delicious food, and a great dance party at the end of the night… A successful day in my books! Congratulations to Zoe… I’m so thankful to have been a part of your big day!
