So if you haven’t already caught on, “Words of the Weekend” is basically turning into “Sneak-Peek-Photos of the Weekend” and I’m more than okay with that! I get so excited to share what I’ve been up to over the weekend, but first let’s share a few thoughts…
1. Who can believe that it’s already June?!
2. My new policy for shooting weddings: get out on the dance floor. I don’t mean like try to squeeze your way through a crowd on the dance floor, I mean really lay down some dance moves… I got some of the best dancing photos ever when I was dancing myself!
3. One of my goals this wedding season is to reserve Sundays as “my” day. My day to relax, my day to spend time with my husband, my day to just do whatever I need to do… whether that be painting my nails or getting editing done. I’m giving myself permission to work or not work but regardless, allow it to be the one day in the week where I make no plans and allow myself to do fun things without feeling guilty about the mountain of editing & work I have to do. I have to remind myself it will still be there on Monday morning and working hard during the week allows for a day for myself to spend however I choose. Yesterday I took full advantage of that with a family cookout and then lounging by the pool. It was a total recharge day and I’m ready to go into this week full force!
Okay, on to the good stuff… May sure did end in a most perfect way. This weekend I got to celebrate the marriage of Sarah & Eli in Woodstock, Vermont. Friday night I headed over to Sarah’s parents’ home to photograph the rehearsal dinner, and between rain storms the most beautiful light came through and we were able to sneak out for a few quick portraits :)
Saturday was their wedding and it was the. perfect. day. I’ve never seen anything like it. The whole day was filled with nothing but happiness & love & sincere appreciation for all of God’s blessings. I can’t wait to share the rest of their wedding! For now here are a few sneak peeks…
A BIG thank you to my right-hand man for Saturday’s wedding, Jon Cospito. Jon is a friend & classmate from Hallmark and I was so excited to have him join me this weekend!
Sarah & Eli had a polaroid camera for guests to take pictures to put in a guest book… of course we had to get a snapshot!
And, finally, last but not least, a photo with the bride & groom… loved getting to know these two and celebrating with them! Congratulations Mr & Mrs Lum :)
