Happy Monday! Today marks the start of a new kind of blog post – “Words of the Weekend” I’ve realized that I love reading other photographers’ Monday posts, sharing stories of their weekend adventures, so why not add a little weekend story telling to my blog schedule? :)
Today was going to be the day that I shared an AMAZING green smoothie recipe that Corey & I are loving right now (that’s right… a husband-approved green smoothie). I took pictures of it as I was preparing it this weekend so I could add them to this post and everything. But as luck would have it, I’m blogging away from home this morning and left the cord for my external hard drive (where the photos are) at home. Computer + External Hard Drive minus cord to connect them = so close, yet so far away. So you guys will have to wait just a little longer for that recipe. Sorry bout it.
In other news… here are a few things about my weekend:
– Weather Rant: I’m usually not one to complain about weather, but this winter is really starting to wear on me. I can take cold. I can even take really cold… I mean, I grew up in Downeast Maine! But what I can’t take is the 40 degree day, followed by rain, followed by sub-zero temps, followed by snow, followed by a 40 degree day, followed by freezing rain… You get the point. Everything is a constant sheet of ice and mark my words, it will be the day when I have my hands the most full when I take a spill on the sidewalk. I’m just waiting for it. {End Rant}
– Skiing in the Rain: I’ve been skiing my whole life and I’ve never skied in the rain. Well there’s a first for everything! It was raining Saturday but we had our friends coming up from Boston to visit & ski so we decided to go for it. It was surprisingly nice to ski in the snow. No lines, the snow was still pretty good, and it wasn’t freezing. We wore ponchos and by the end of the day we could ring out our mittens. We were drenched from helmet to boot, but it was a ski day I won’t forget!
– Movie Recommendation: Lone Survivor. One of Corey & my favorite date nights is to go to the movies. The movie theater selection around here is pretty slim pickings (if anyone wants to come open a giant movie theater in the Hanover/Lebanon area I would forever love you), but Saturday night we saw “Lone Survivor,” the new military movie starring Mark Wahlberg. I haven’t cried at a movie in a while, but the tears were flowing during this one. It just made me realize how grateful I am for the brave men & women (and their spouses & families!) that serve in the military to protect our country. Thank you.
