This one was a special one. These two hold a very special place in my heart. I first met Theodora when I was a freshman at UVM. We lived on the same dorm floor (Buckham 4, woop woop!) and I remember her as the cheery girl who lived down the hall– always smiling & saying hello. Fast forward 2 years, and Theodora, our good friend, Alex, and I move into an off-campus apartment our junior year and stayed in that apartment we self-proclaimed “The Chateau” for the remainder of our time at UVM. Theodora became one of my best friends on the planet, and so when she started dating this awesome guy named Dan our senior year, we couldn’t have been happier for her. In fact, I vividly remember a conversation I had in the kitchen of our apartment with Alex where we predicted they would get married. Fast forward to July 19, 2014… and there it happened. These two are perfect for each other and I couldn’t have been more thrilled to be documenting their wedding day. I actually owe a lot to Theodora & Dan because when they had been dating for only weeks, somehow (and I still don’t know how?!) I got them to agree to let me take portraits of them (aka engagement style portraits… don’t forget the part where I said they had only been dating for maybe a couple of weeks). They were the first couple I EVER photographed back in 2011 and so to be photographing their wedding was an amazing thing.
This Vermont wedding was held in Dan’s parents’ home in Wheelock, VT with amazing views of hills for days. There were so many special touches to this wedding, but the best might have been a SECRET CABIN the groom & his parents build for Theodora. Secret. Cabin. (heart melted). Dan took me over before the wedding to secretly photograph the cabin where he would be surprising Theodora on their wedding night. The whole day was just filled with so much love, beauty & happiness. Dan & Theodora, I couldn’t be happier for you guys!
The secret cabin that Dan & his parents built to surprise Theodora on their wedding night!
Alex, Theodora, Me & Hallie… Love these girls with all my heart!
Dan & Theodora surprised their guests with a choreographed first dance!
… And then the parents had a few surprise dances of their own
