As my husband put it this morning, “You’ve been preparing for this day for months, and it’s finally here”… This was as he was getting a good laugh at me running around like a mad woman this morning as I was packing, gulping down coffee, answering final emails and putting the finishing touches on all of my portrait sessions & jobs from these last few crazy busy months. That’s right… All jobs have been edited & delivered, and now it’s time for this lady to go on a little vacation. I will be “out of the office” (I put that in parantheses because I work from every place imaginable, so there’s really no office I can officially leave) until January 2. There may be a few blog or Facebook posts to wrap up 2013 but all e-mails and inquiries will be answered after the new year. I’m so excited to get refreshed & recharged over the holidays and go full force into 2014, which I can’t even imagine what lies ahead in the new year. Here’s a little of what I’ll be up to over the holidays…
Tonight: BEYONCE CONCERT!! I couldn’t be more excited to see Beyonce in concert with my mom & sister in Boston tonight. Yes: I will be singing “Love on Top” at the top of my lungs. Yes: I will post an obnoxious amount of photos on Instagram tonight. I’m not sorry.
Tomorrow: Off to NYC with my hubby to revisit the place where we got engaged 3 years ago (I can’t believe it’s been that long) and to get some updated portraits of us! Corey proposed to me in Central Park, so we’re SO excited to have a portrait session done there with Abby Grace Photography. Let me just say to my amazing clients– bravo on picking out such great outfits for your session. I spent a solid couple hours last night trying to find the perfect two outfits for us… not. easy.
A photo from when Corey proposed in December 2010 in Central Park. He sneakily had his friend who lived in NYC come to the bridge & take photos without me knowing, and I am forever grateful for these photos.
Christmas Week: Heading up to Ellsworth, Maine where Corey & I grew up and our parents live… I feel SO lucky to have both my parents & in-laws live just 10 minutes away from each other so we can all spend the holidays together. What a blessing! One of the pitfalls of growing up is having less & less time with your immediate family. Since my sister is in college, my brother lives in Florida, and I live in New Hampshire, it’s not often we all get together, which makes the holidays that much sweeter. We started a tradition last year of a gingerbread building contest on Christmas Eve… Corey & I are reining champs looking to defend our title but I hear my brother & his girlfriend are out for the win. I’m looking forward to a week at home, spending quality time with Corey (he’s done with his surgery rotation, yay!), family & catching up with old friends.
Last year’s Gingerbread House Competition. The winners’ house got smashed… that doesn’t seem quite fair.
This seriously might be one of the best weeks ever. Merry Christmas everyone!
