Featured on the First: MY WEDDING VENDORS | DOWNEAST MAINE BRIDE

Wow, I can’t believe I flipped my calendar over to July this morning. June flew by– I finished & handed in my final portfolio at Hallmark Institute of Photography, my husband and I (with the help of our mothers!) moved to our new home in Sachem Village in West Lebanon, NH, my final portfolio was passed by the panel of judges {Bambi Cantrell, Lois Greenfield, & Gregor Halenda}, I had the honor of giving the student speech at graduation, I received one of the top 10% portfolio awards alongside some other amazing photographers, and I shot 2 dance recitals & 2 weddings… PHEW!

I wanted to start off July with a “Featured on the First” because 1. I skipped it in June, sorry guys! and 2. July is a very exciting month for my husband and I because we celebrate our one year wedding anniversary on July 7. Our wedding was an amazing seaside garden wedding at the Asticou Inn in Northeast Harbor, Maine. It was a hot, but beautiful day. This month on “Featured on the First” I would like to share some of our favorite vendors with you. If you’re reading this and are getting married in Maine, go to these guys… The best of the best right from the mouth of a bride:

Rentals: Wallace Tent | Ellsworth, ME

When it comes to customer service, the Wallace Tent team has it down. When it comes to having every selection you could ever want for chairs, tablecloths, napkins, plates, cups, silverware (the list goes on), they have everything. Everyone at Wallace Tent is awesome and if you need to rent a tent or anything for an event in Maine, I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Our tent & tables were absolutely beautiful… Wallace Tent gave us a home for a great reception!

Florist: The Bud Connection | Ellsworth, ME

Barbara at the Bud Connection is a family friend and she did an absolutely amazing job with the flowers at our wedding. I don’t know much about flowers (other than they’re beautiful & smell great), so I wasn’t very helpful when it came to being able to tell her exactly what I wanted. So I gave her my vision, and she made the most beautiful floral arrangements & table centerpieces to fit it.

Cake: Creative Cakes & Design | Ellsworth, ME

Nikki Chan is a cake genius. Not only does this cake look gorgeous, but it was delicious too… in my history of wedding-going, usually it’s one or the other. I gave her a few pictures of what I was thinking of and I was absolutely floored when I saw it!

Lighting: Ambience Event Services | Portland, ME

I think that lighting is something that brides too often forget about. Tim Shields was recommended to us by Wallace Tent and the lights were gorgeous. Once it got dark, it felt like you were under the stars in our tent and I would absolutely recommend looking into lighting with these guys for any bride getting married in Maine.

Our Other Great Vendors:

Hair: Jessica Jordan & Amy Spencer | Ellsworth, ME

Officiant: Pastor Gerry Dill, Maine Coast Baptist Church | Ellsworth, ME

Videographer: Ben Speed | Ellsworth, ME

Bridesmaids Dresses: Andrea’s Bridal | Portland, ME

My Dress: Fiori Bridal | Essex, VT

Catering: Asticou Inn | Northeast Harbor, ME

Thanks to everyone–vendors, family & friends– who made our wedding day amazing! We’re so excited to celebrate our one year anniversary, then many more from there on out.

Happy July!

xo Kelsey
