Sonal & Jeff  |  October 17, 2015  |  Newton, MA

A little truth about behind-the-scenes wedding photography: While I was editing this wedding I may or may not have listened to Bhangra dance music to attempt to relive how FUN this wedding was! :) But seriously, Sonal & Jeff’s Indian wedding outside of Boston last weekend was such an incredible wedding! This was wedding was an important one for me– not only was it my 50th wedding of my career, but it was my first Indian wedding. I did all the research, reading & Pinterest scouting I could but nothing could have really prepared me for how beautiful all of the details would be and how much fun I would have photographing Sonal & Jeff’s wedding celebration. It was a very full day of photographing, from the intricate getting ready process starting in the morning, to 2 different outfits, to the many Indian traditions throughout the day, and, of course, LOTS of dancing :) But beyond all of the swoon-worthy details at the wedding, Sonal & Jeff are one of the sweetest couples I’ve ever worked with. I met them in person for the first time on their wedding day, and I was instantly greeted with hugs & smiles. They were surrounded by a wonderful wedding party & their families as they celebrated their love on a gorgeous fall day! Congratulations Sonal & Jeff!

I walk into the getting ready suite and these are hanging on the windows & floor length gold sequin gowns are hanging off to the side… My photographer heart went pitter-patter!

Oh my gosh how stunning is Sonal?!

These two flower girls were just the cutest…

This part of the day is called the Baraat, where the groom rides on a white horse in basically a parade style dance party and it. was. a. BLAST! At the end, the bride’s family greets the groom into their family and then the ceremony gets underway!

This was the ceremony site! Like I said, this whole day was one beautiful thing after another.

Such a beautiful memorial for Jeff’s mom <3

I spy a flower girl… ;)

Such a proud papa!

As if Jeff, Sonal & their wedding party didn’t look fabulous enough, after the ceremony everyone changed into their reception outfits. And we got outside just in time for the final golden sunlight of the day… Ahh, I was dying

I could have photographed this wedding party all day!

Hello gorgeous reception space!!

The dance party started right away and really only broke up while people ate dinner!

These moments below were some of the most touching I’ve ever seen at a wedding… Jeff recently lost him mom and they played a slideshow at the reception in memory of her. Sonal’s parents joined Jeff’s family in support of her and then went on stage to not only hug Jeff & truly welcome him into their family as their own, but also gave big hugs to Jeff brothers. This really was such a beautiful symbol of two families becoming one on this beautiful wedding day.

The Tuft’s Bhangra dance team performed at both the Baraat and the reception and were so good!

Believe it or not, these two ran up to me and said “Will you take our picture?!” and proceeded to do this… May everyone have a friend that they can hug this tight <3

And of course my photo with Sonal & Jeff! This hug below basically sums up how much I just love these two! Thank you for making my 50th wedding one I’ll never forget!
