You know when you say that you’re going to do something FOREVER and it seems that it will never happen? Well that was this trip! Montreal is a beautiful Canadian city located just a few hours from where we live (and it will be even closer when we move to Burlington!). Corey and I have been talking about taking a trip to Montreal with Corey’s brother & his wife forever and this past weekend it finally happened! I had been to Montreal a few times in college but had never explored Old Montreal… SO BEAUTIFUL! It has some of the beauty & charm of old European cities, but it’s located so close to us!
We left early Saturday morning and spent the day wandering around the city, eating the most DELICIOUS foods! I had the best crepe I’ve ever had… I was in food heaven. Following the crepe was poutine, fondue, wine, cronuts, and a baguette (thus why I started Jillian Michael’s 30-Day Shred on Monday). We also rented bikes from these stations that were located all over the city, which was an awesome way to see the city– I highly recommend that if you’re exploring a new city that has bikes to rent!
Montreal was such a fun weekend getaway! It definitely did not feel like home with everyone speaking French (let’s just say I took Spanish in high school and when I tried to say “Bonjour!” I wasn’t fooling anyone). So happy I brought my camera along for the trip!
Even their street signs are pretty!
Chez Suzette had the best. crepes. EVER. Strawberry & Nutella, yummmm!
Doesn’t this look like a European street?!
I wouldn’t necessarily recommend trying to take a selfie while riding a bike :)
My first cronut!
