welcome to the blog

The cold winter New England months prove to be “off-season” for weddings, but it doesn’t mean that portraits ever stop! This winter I’ve gotten to connect with lots of wonderful people who are starting their new families. Maternity & newborn sessions are such unique sessions because you get to photograph people in such important stages of their lives… whether it’s anxiously waiting the arrival of their first child at a maternity session, or seeing the parents in awe of the new center of their whole world at a newborn session… Down time from weddings allows me more time for portraits and I love being able to fill my winter months with snuggly sessions!

At the end of February, I got to go visit a friend in Massachusetts for her maternity session! I first met Adrienne when my sister-in-law got married and we were both bridesmaids. Adrienne is a riot and I was so thrilled when she asked me to take her maternity photos. We started off in her cozy home in the nursery she has all prepared for her little girl, then she was a champ in the cold outside. During transitions between locations, something really struck me that Adrienne said. She told me that one big reason she wanted maternity photos done was because she barely had one photo of her mom pregnant, and she wanted to capture this time in her life so she & her future family could look back and remember. I couldn’t agree more… it made the whole session that much more meaningful and I’m so thankful that I can preserve these times for people to look back on. That’s what it’s all about… Can’t wait to meet the little one soon!
