Lily & Matt | Ipswich, Massachusetts | May 29, 2016
One of the reasons I absolutely love doing engagement sessions with my clients is because it gives us a chance to get to know each other before the wedding. By the time the wedding day rolls around, I feel like I’m heading out to photograph a friend’s wedding, and that’s exactly how it felt as I was traveling to Massachusetts to document Lily & Matt’s big day on Sunday. I had only met Lily & Matt once in person at their Boston engagement session, but felt like I had known them forever. They are just the type of people that are so warm & friendly and are so easy to be around! I was greeted with the biggest hug & smile from Lily when I walked into the house in Newburyport where the girls were getting ready and knew it was going to be an amazing day.
I figured Lily would have some gorgeous details, but couldn’t have dreamed of this! From the blush bridesmaids dresses, to the Mrs. Box (how many do we think is too many photos to take of this?!), to the peonies (my favorite)… I could have photographed these details all day. Luckily, I was easily drawn away from the details by all the sweet moments that unraveled throughout the day. Matt & Lily’s first look at Hale Memorial Park in Newburyport was one of the sweetest I think I’ve ever seen. Let’s just say that they were not the only one to shed a few tears…
Their whole wedding day was just the total package. Filled with sweet, loving moments, lots of laughter, swoon-worthy details, and to top it all off a pretty epic dance party– I couldn’t have asked for anything more as their wedding photographer. Lily & Matt, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your big day at the Hellenic Center. Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs!
Ahhh I could not get enough of these gorgeous blush details! I may or may not have gone a little overboard with photographing the Mrs Box :)
When there’s no mirror to tie your bowtie in…
I would say Matt & Lily’s was one of the sweetest first looks I’ve ever seen.
I’m a huge sucker for peonies & blush, so needless to say I was swooning over this bridesmaids combo.
Newburyport was perfect for portraits before we headed to the venue… It looks and feels like one of my favorite places, Nantucket!
Oh my gosh, Lily. You. are. STUNNING.
When I saw this black & white photo of Lily arm-in-arm with her parents after she turned the corner and saw her future husband waiting for her at the end of the aisle, it stopped me dead in my tracks. Such a sweet moment that I’m so happy was frozen for a lifetime.
Their ceremony might have been a little chilly, but it was not short of sweet moments OR good laughs.
Ahhh, I could photograph these two all day.
A blush lover’s dream!
LOVE this last photo above. The story? The DJ told Lily & Matt to cut into the cake using the utensils there, and at the SAME time they each picked up the forks and said, “This?!” … Luckily they ended up finding their way to the cake knife & server.
My #KRPcouples photo :) I just adore these two!
When the DJ brings uplighting for outside the venue, magic night portraits happen…

I think the saying goes, “The couple that does the Dougie together, stays together” … right?!
Matt, what a nice guy :) Couldn’t help but capture this adorable moment.
