When Ellen & Tim and I were planning their engagement session, Ellen mentioned that she wanted a wintery engagement session. Well, I would say that’s exactly what they got. When I say it was snowing on the day of their engagement session in Woodstock, VT, I don’t mean there were a few flakes drifting down, I mean, it was really coming down, New England blizzard style. I wouldn’t have had it any other way! I had SO much fun meeting Ellen & Tim at the Woodstock Inn to start their session, then heading over to Suicide Six (a local ski mountain with a very unfortunate name) to finish their session on the slopes. When Ellen first came to me about the idea of having their engagement session at a mountain, with a lodge for some photos & some photos on the slopes, I couldn’t respond “YESS!” back fast enough. The only problem is that ski resorts can be a little tricky. Either the lodge is a bit of an eye sore or it’s very crowded (or often both). So when Ellen came up with the idea to shoot at the beautiful Woodstock Inn to get the lodge-y feel then head to a smaller, local mountain where we could avoid crowds on a weekday, I knew it would be great! I had been looking forward to this shoot all winter, and now I couldn’t be more excited for their wedding at Sugarbush Mountain in October!
