I am SO excited to finally share these images & these memories on my blog! Let’s start from the beginning…
In September, I headed to Richmond, VA to attend a photography workshop that I had been thinking of attending for a while. I have been following Katelyn James Photography‘s blog for well over a year, and felt like I had gotten to know her through her blog. First of all, her images are simply amazing and addicting to look at, but beyond that she shares tips & tricks through her blog that have been invaluable to pushing my business forward. This fall I finally took the leap and signed up for her 2-day workshop at her home in Virginia. Not going to lie… I was SO nervous/anxious/excited to meet her! After following her blog almost daily for more than a year, she felt like a bit of a celebrity! I was a little starstuck when Katelyn, Michael (her husband), and Bokeh (their adorable dog) greeted me at the door, but instantly felt this feeling of hospitality & kindness, and knew right away that the investment & travel was so worth it!
Just a few hours after sitting in Katelyn & Michael’s living room, trying desperately to absorb everything she was saying, I felt like I had learned SO much… and that was just after the 1st morning!! In the afternoon we got to head right outside her home for a beautiful fall styled shoot! It was such an amazing learning experience to shoot beside other photographers & see how Katelyn works behind-the-scenes. This styled shoot was just published on Every Last Detail (see it HERE) so now we get to share the images on our own blogs! Enjoy feasting your eyes on these gorgeous details…
A few behind-the-scenes looks at the styled shoot…
Baby Veronee & Bokeh were SO cute

Thank you so much to Katelyn for the new headshots!
And finally here are some looks just snapped with my iPhone…
Of course I had to get a photo with both Katelyn & Bokeh!
Warning: If you attend a Katelyn James Workshop you WILL become addicted to Crystal Light’s Mango Green Tea. My life hasn’t been the same since….
This workshop was simply incredible and I feel like I’m still trying to process all that I learned in those 2 days back in September. For any photographers trying to decide between which workshops or mentoring sessions to attend, I can’t speak highly enough about The Workshop Experience. Katelyn is an amazing photographer, business owner, teacher & person! My hopes were pretty darn high for this lady after following her online, and I could not have had a better experience meeting & learning from her and Michael! They are just the best and if you’re considering attending one of her future workshops, GO! It was a great opportunity to meet one of the industry’s best and to meet a handful of other wonderful photographers (and now friends!) from all over the country! There is no doubt that learning from Katelyn has already made me a better photographer and I can’t wait to continue to use & implement what I learned at her workshop as I continue to grow my business. Thank you so much to Katelyn & Michael for opening up your home and for just being awesome! I am beyond thankful for this experience…
