Wow. Coming into 2013 almost a year ago there’s no way I could have known what this year had in store for me. Last year at this time I was still a student at Hallmark Institute of Photography just trying to take in everything I could before I graduated in June. One of the highlights of the year was having the honor of being chosen as the graduation speaker from my class and receiving one of the top portfolio awards at graduation. I couldn’t think of a better way to end my time at Hallmark, an experience I will value for the rest of my career.

The day after graduating from Hallmark, I jumped right into wedding season, which brought me to weddings all over New England and gave me the experience of photographing so many great people & places. Below are a few behind-the-scene shots from my 2013 weddings… Thanks to my second shooters & wedding guests for capturing these!

I could not have asked for a better 2013 wedding season… Amazing couples, amazing locations. I shot weddings in a bride’s small Vermont hometown, on a boat cruise around Boston Harbor, at a castle, and by the ocean… all locations around New England.

One of the highlights of my year was to have Steven & Lydia’s wedding featured on Style Me Pretty! It’s my absolute favorite wedding blog and was a big goal of mine to get my work published on their site. I may or may not have screamed when I got the e-mail that my submission had been accepted to the Massachusetts section of their blog… see it here!

In the midst of all the weddings this year, I’ve gotten to shoot lots of engagement sessions for 2013 & 2014 couples. I love getting to know couples at their engagement session and it makes me even more excited for their wedding!

Outside of weddings & couples, there have been so many great families & people that I’ve had the opportunity to have portrait sessions with this year. I’ve gotten to meet a lot of great families here in Hanover, NH where my husband and I moved in June, and also reconnect with people from Ellsworth, ME where I grew up.

Thanks so much to all the amazing people who allowed me to photograph them in 2013! It’s been an amazing and blessed year and I couldn’t have done it without the support of my husband, family & friends. Happy 2014 everyone!
