Where to even begin…

From the first time I laid eyes on this location, I knew I had to shoot there. The Ice Castles first came to Lincoln, NH last year and I vowed that if they came back for a 2nd year, I would plan a shoot there. Fast forward to this year, and Taylor & Bill came into my life. These two are planning a December 2015 wedding at the beautiful Omni Mount Washington Resort, which is conveniently close to the Ice Castles. So I took a little leap of faith and shot Taylor over an e-mail asking if they would want to model for a styled engagement session at the Ice Castles. I was BEYOND thrilled when they said yes and the details started coming together!

We rented a dreamy, floor-length Badly Mischka gown from Rent the Renway (if you don’t know about this site, you need to!), bought tickets for the Ice Castle and met there on a beautiful, sunny (but chilly!) Saturday afternoon in February. I had never met Taylor & Bill in person before (although I felt like I knew them!), and these two were more amazing than I could have imagined. We navigated around the crowds a bit and these two “nuzzled” so cutely with plenty of eyes on them. Then when Taylor put on the gold-sequin gown and Bill put on his tux, the crowds parted ways for these two. I’m pretty sure a few little girls there thought Taylor was a princess from Frozen! When I pictured this shoot, I pictured a beautiful gold gown against the soft blue background of the icicles, and the results were even dreamier than I could have imagined! I couldn’t stop smiling ear-to-ear despite a little hiccup earlier in the day…

Without going into too much detail, my car decided that it would start acting up on the way to the Ice Castles. Luckily, (1) I leave ridiculously early for things and, (2) I was almost to the Ice Castles when I started having troubles. Long story short, I still made it to the Ice Castles on time and Taylor, Bill, and both of their parents were so amazingly sweet & accommodating. We left my car near the Ice Castles and all rode together (with all my stuff!) to the wedding venue for a walkthrough. It ended up all working out because I got to know these two and their families better than I would have if my car hadn’t broken down! My wonderful husband met us at the venue and drove me home. A huge thank you to Taylor, Bill, your parents & Corey for making all of this possible!

These two with this background…. heaven!

And I thought the first half of the session was perfect… When they put on their formal outfits I was DYING!!!

Taylor… Model Status! You are going to make a stunning bride!
