Let me just say, I have been so excited to share this wedding on my blog since they moment Kate & Matt booked their wedding with me. So grab your cup of coffee (or mimosa!) and get yourself ready for this beautiful Nantucket wedding…

I first met Kate when she was a bridesmaid in Michaella & Pat‘s 2015 wedding. I remember her well because Michaella told me she needed to introduce me to someone, a bridemaid’s mom who she assured me was my biggest fan on Instagram (which still to this day makes me giggle). Sure enough, I met Kate’s mom that day (who I adore– Hi Marion!), and fast forward a few years, and Kate had gotten engaged herself and was planning a wedding on the beautiful island of Nantucket. For those of you who have followed me for any length of time, you might know that Nantucket is one of my FAVORITE places on earth. For real. So being able to photograph these amazing folks on an island I love… dream come true.

Kate & Matt teamed up with Maggie Stewart of Nantucket Island Events to plan their weekend full of wedding celebrations. Friday evening started with a backyard BBQ at Matt’s parents’ home to welcome their friends & family to this beautiful island they love. When Saturday came, it was the most beautiful September day you could imagine. Throughout the day we moved from beautiful spot to beautiful spot around the island. Kate & Matt shared their first look back at Matt’s family home, then they exchanged vows at the historical First Congregational Church right in downtown Nantucket. These two exited the church through flower petals as we escaped into an old fashion getaway car. Maybe my favorite part of the day was going to one of Kate & Matt’s favorite spots on the island: “secret beach.” We went to this location for their engagement session and I had been dreaming of bride & groom portraits there ever since. JUST. WAIT. Until you get to that part of the blog post… you’re in for a treat. These two celebrated the night away at the Westmoor Club in a perfect ending to an amazing wedding celebration. Kate & Matt– thank you so much for giving me the honor of documenting your wedding celebration on Nantucket. Already dreaming about the next time I get to return to this beautiful place (who will be the next ACK couple?!)…
